Makeda Weaver - Summer Projects
In the summer of 2007 Shian held summer activities for young on the new Kings Hold and Lee Conservancy estates. These activities included football, basketball and socially inclusive games. The summer projects ended in a football tournament for all participants.
Young people of different backgrounds and of varying abilities took part in our project and had a great time as the pictures show.
We are encouraging the young men from our mother project, Makeda Weaver, to volunteer to work with young people at risk of drifting into crime and anti social behaviour.
Shian has the capacity to put these events on anywhere in the borough.
Shian also donated medals for one of the football foundations tournaments for Peace Week in Hackney, making this event truly memorable for the participants.
