Our partnership with RISE means you can get free expert help to find a new or better job.
Rise is an award-winning employability programme, which was originally developed for Arhag Housing Association by Olmec.
Any resident over the age of 16 can take part – whatever your personal situation.
Rise can help if:
- you’re returning to work – after a break to raise children or because you were unwell
- you’re looking for your first job or an apprenticeship
- you’ve just left college or university and don’t know what to do next, or
- you have a job already, but you want to do something different.
The programme offers six weeks of informal group learning and support.
You will learn about:
- jobhunting techniques
- interview skills, and
- how to write a CV
You will also get one-to-one advice from specialist advisors and the opportunity to gain an NCFE entry-level Employability Skills qualification – which tells employers you are work-ready.
The course ends with four weeks in a guaranteed volunteer or work placement of your choice. This helps you build your skills and confidence – as well as giving you a reference for your CV.
When you get a job, RISE will carry on supporting you, as you settle in.
